SOLVED: Clematis species

Horta, Portugal

Is the vine in the picture a clematis? It doesn't really look like a deciduous as the some of the leaves look old for beginning of spring.
It seems very vigorous, and new shoots are coming out of the soil everywhere and form dense carpets.
It grows in temperate / Mediterranean climate.

Thanks in advance

hmm - looks more like a lonicera (honeysuckle) to me.

Indeed. I looked the Lonicera up and seems to be a match. Thank you
