fragrant shrub

Nanuet, NY

Can you identify this fragrant shrub which is growing in my niece's yard in
Switzerland?

Choisya ternata.
There are a couple of varieties.
The clue for me is the leaf shape- 3 leaflets.

I agree. Looks like the species, Choisya ternata http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/1842/
If you break off a piece and it smells like cat pee, Choisya is it.

Lower Hudson Valley, United States

Choisya ternata cannot survive in sub-zero temperatures, as are found in Switzerland. Also, the flowers of Choisya ternata occur in terminal racemes; the flowers on the shrub in this photo do not.

I guess the cat pee smell test will determine if it is Choisya ternata or not.

btw Palms grow happily in southern Switzerland
