okay, since this forum is really shrinking .. :( I think I will just talk to myself. I am just getting into this Farmers Market fun, so I will post here just in case someone is out there..after all, how do we get new members to join by having a slow forum? Right???!
SO this is my thoughts: We are now going into our 'winter' mode here. The folks who put on the F.M. were hoping to go year 'round, but I don't think that will happen, there is a time when our gardens do slow down here. When the winter crop overlaps the spring crop, usually in Jan-Feb so I think we will shut down.
I am holding out for the rest of December, even though our sales have dropped. This coming market day I am going to have 'Christmas baskets' made up. I have some frozen tomatoes in the freezer and I will make a homemade tomato paste. I am also going to make some homemade pasta and seal it (uncooked) in my Food Saver bags, also I will be drying some oregano and basil to put in the baskets. This will be a sort of "Italian" cooking basket. I am also going to make some jelly baskets..now it is in print and I am going to have to do what I say...so, don't mind me ya'll...I am just thinking out loud here, hoping someone will join in and hoping other maybe there are market growers out there peeping in :) Have a great day yall! Lisa
