think this is a Cyperus, possibly either C. diffusus (smaller), or C. alternifolius. They like to keep their feet wet (think they're related to papyrus). the brown tips to the leaves are from a dry atmosphere, they like it humid. Known also as umbrella plant. think it's a grass not a palm
i had one - but didn't keep it wet enough :(

Looks like miniature Papyrus to me. I had both kinds - they are recommended as "bog" plants. I have no bog, and the larger version does very well in a sunny, dry location and is hardy here in zone 7. The smaller version died after the first winter so I think It did need more moisture and is not as hardy. Pretty plant.

I agree it's a papyrus (Cyperus) but again the species is difficult to asses from a photo. Had one of these spring up last year, must have blown in from somewhere.

It resembles this one. May be this is Papyrus. The stem is not so long as in the link.
