Hey Trish or Dave

(Zone 5a)

Have you had the time to paint your Swan Gourds? If you have can you tell me what your using for the beak? Mine are just little nubs so I need some help to figure out how to add something to it that will make it look like a real one and is weather proof.

Windsurffer,

No, I haven't painted the swan gourds yet.

I'm not going to be much help on this one at all, as when I do get around to doing them, I won't be painting them like swans (I am no artist, to say the least).

My best guess would be polymer clay. Properly sealed, I would think it would hold up.

Anyone else have suggestions?

I have decided to use polymer clay, I really didn't want to because of the amount I would have to use but I found a way of making it strech plus I used the patio paint so I don't have to use a sealer. Will be posting a picture, keep in mind that they are not finished.
