Howie and I made a fountain using odds and ends from around the house. The base is a basket of lava rocks which previously housed our old pond pump. On top of the base we put a short section of clay tile. On top of the tile we put this clay pot. As we assembled all this, we threaded the water hosing through. We finished up by piling some rocks in the pot so the end of the hose was just below eye level in the rocks.
This picture doesn't show how it finally ended up; we sealed the bottom of the clay pot so the water now falls down off the rocks and fills the pot, spilling over the sides. I'll post a picture of it in my journal.
We might fill the pot with pretty green marbles we have on hand, leaving the pipe just below water level and acting as a bubbler. The sun would catch the green glass nicely if we used those. We just can't decide how we want to do this. :)
