I feel like I've flipped my lid, but it seems like the only way. I'm putting the veggies in the flower beds at the back of the house and I just "hilled" my tomato plants next to my La Reine Victoria rose bush. I worked some good home grown compost in and planted 3 plants per hill. they are 3 Tip Top, and 2 hills of 3 each Jaune Flamme (sp?). the hills are about a foot apart. I'm hoping this works.

I also planted the Tobacco Worm beans that Brooke sent me out next to the little old scotch briar rose. I dug in some of the same compost and made a circle about a yard across. put the beans in about 2 inches apart. I will put up some kind of poles when the plants appear. How tall should I make them??

The peas will be at the foot of the bed the tomatoes are in, planted like the beans - I have Tall Telephone from Pinetree Gardens. I have to decide where to move the narcissus to, or do you think they might stay without bothering the veggies? There are also a row of Little Marvel peas and Mokum carrots on the other side of the bed.
