I would like to have the name of this plant. I have been told that it is a Josephine but I am not sure.

I don't believe it's Josephine - they have double blooms. Try checking out this page: The International Clematis Society at http://dspace.dial.pipex.com/clematis/ . I e-mailed them and pointed to a picture of the clematis I posted in my journal at http://davesgarden.com/journal/viewentry/10255/index.html, and a man got back to me within a day with the answer: http://davesgarden.com/showthread/37104.html#new

Thanks for the links. I found out that it is called Contesse de bouchaud, now I know what to call it.
