Yes, Lillith, it really does take over. I guess it wasn't in as loamy and fertile a soil at my friend's house, because it didn't get this vigorous there. But I adore the bright color since it's such a good foil to just about any plant placed near it. I just need to move it to a place where it may be let go and mowed around to keep it in check; here, it's competing for other plants' space, and it's too much for them.

Gardenwife, do you still have this and like it? I'm going to dig out the small plants I put in this past fall since I have now read about how invasive it is in a book by Ken Druse. I too like the color, so i was considering it I shoud use it in pots, but do you know if it reseeds lots? Thanks.

I have lots of it, and I still love it. I have not noticed it seeding elsewhere, just creeping. It's easy to pull out. It would be really cool in pots, I think.
