I have another question for you regarding the pressure treated pine that has been used by my builder for the cat porch and decking etc. The wooden handrail, about 4 inches wide, to the steps of the porch has a few knots. I have seen knots come out in pine leaving holes. Should I do something to them or leave them alone? Also the two uprights on the first step are very solid (support the handrail) but have splits in the wood. Should I be concerned? Thanks!
