Put that as a win in the bedroom column, mom loses by a TKO in the first round. Yikes! DD is a bona fide pack rat, and she's only five. I'm finding long-lost stuff in there, does anybody have the equipment to carbon date items? I think we'll need to.
Oh, well...I made some progress, but I don't think I can hack any more for a while. I knew it was getting bad, but I didn't realize it was that bad in there.
Any good suggestions on ways to motivate (positively or negatively - I'm not picky at this point) children to keep their rooms clean? You'd think after going through this with the two boys, I'd have this down pat, but to be honest, I used to have a lot of help from the nanny. This is definitely NOT the most positive part of being a SAHM!
It seems like every 6-8 weeks, we go in and haul out enough trash to fill the county dump, and make promises to keep it neater. It stays pretty good for about a week, then things start to slip. And it's like once something gets pushed into a corner, it reaches out and grabs more stuff, and then they multiply at night. It's downhill from there...and then we have to use the heavy equipment to clean it out again.
