This came up all on its own this year in a hot dry and sunny spot, has very simple pale yellow flowers, any id's?

Thanks! The flowers were so fleeting, I never got a photo. But the one time I saw them, they were palest yellow, and rather small. It's an attractive plant, I think, although prickery. poppysue, the pods are very reminiscent of poppy pods, you and baa are probably right. Kay, thanks for the link, I think the leaves are different though. eyes, that is one I don't know, maybe we don't have that weed/wildflower here? John
