Yes, that's in my shade/woodland garden. I think that's last year's photo. I'm trying for a yellow one from my grower but didn't manage it this year. Thanks!

Found some impressive pink blooms on a friend's private property in central MI. Thought they might be Lady's Slipper, though I have no idea where I had heard the name before. I have no wildflower book, so have been searching the web for a photo to confirm the name. Sure enough, this photo fits. I found probably 12-18 in a four acre area of mainly pine forest. Jack pine mostly with some cherry and oak trees. Are these rare? Are they protected?

Ladyslipper, the botanical name is Cypripedium and this is a link with many pictures (over 2,000!) of different species http://images.google.cl/images?q=Cypripedium&ie=ISO-8859-1&h...
