Maypop, Purple Passion Flower, Passionflower, Apricot Vine
Passiflora incarnata

I love this plant. Fast growing once established. The flowers are gorgeous and fruit production good. Can't wait to harvest.

THAT is an incredible picture, Violet. What a cool perspective! Passiflora are alien enough looking when shot straight-on, but from this view it looks positively other-wordly! That is SO cool!

dittodittoditto all the above.

Violet - you've got a truly unique way of looking at flowers. I always end up with a conservative-in-studio-biologically-sound portrait of a bloom; yet when I look at your pictures - Boom! - I can imagine myself as a bee zero-ing in on a nectar lunch. The subjectiveness of your pics is both exhilarating and refreshing - keep it up!!!

This picture needs to be bumped. I linked to it for Monterey to see and, gosh darn it, it's just too cool to leave buried. :)
