SOLVED: reference atlases, books, sites....

Rethymno, Crete, Greece(Zone 10b)

Anyone already with a list of reference means,
please add your contribution!!
trying to ID wild plants in Crete is no easy
job for a newcomer like me.
Particularly interested in wildflowers, but other plants as well.....
many thanks in advance

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

I did a search and came up with a few books that may help. There are several titles at this link http://www.support.net/medit-plants/inprint/booksRMB.html

One at the bottom of the list ~ "Wildflowers of Crete" by George Sfikas ~ looks like it could be just what your looking for. http://www.support.net/medit-plants/inprint/wocgs.html

I'm not sure if you can purchase them through this site - It's a start anyway ... and can give you some titles to look for. Also check out the Mediterranean Garden Society http://www.support.net/medit-plants/groups/mgs.html
It may have some additional sources for you.

thank you so much. I will be better informed now, when I speak about my flowers
