they have red or white bottle brush plants on ebay...check it out.
sounds like callistemon to me.

Is it a plant or a tree? I have what is known as bottle brush tree, narrow leaves, weeping habit, flowers are red, bunch or cone like with single rod with bunches of little bumps with red tassel. Don't know the latin name.
