Most of my larger varieties are showing belly buttons this season.I've not had this many in a season ever.

Could it be from the late start my seedlings got by being held from Feb. to June? Blooms were pinched because I had no idea when I could plant out,so there were no pollinated flowers when they were set.Temps were quite cool and the weather wet this spring, but when I finally got them set out,it turned blistering.Temps were waaay over 90 and so was humidity for weeks on end.

These are just 3 that I picked tonight.Winsall,Old Flame and Ferris Wheel.I've also seen this on the Cherokee Purples,Aunt Ruby's German Green and Abe Hall.

Hopefully Tom will show up and give me some advice.Naturally, the taste isn't affected, but I'm curious as to what causes this.
