Hi Dave, I chose your picture, because it is closest in color to a tree I have been in love with for 2 years. I asked the neighbor what kind it was and I was told it was a "beach/beech myrtle". The one that I am making reference to is completely covered in magenta colored flowers in the summer. It is not red or soft pink. The blossom's color range is from fuchia to raspberry or magenta. Is this the "tuscarora"? Sorry, missed the season otherwise I'd send you a picture. Could it be the ph level of her soil that enhances the color?
