I have some of the black and green ornamental sweet potato vines. I have already been successful in rooting them and hope to be able to use them next spring (2003). Is it recommended that I try to produce plants from the tubers? How do I go about doing this? Do I do it now or store the tubers over the winter? How?
Hi, Clwyddavis! Welcome to Dave's! You're gonna' love it here. There are all sorts of fun and helpful tools like the Plants Database, journals and tradetracker to name but a few. ;)
To answer your question, if the plants you've started by rooting haven't made tubers, you can overwinter them. But it's loads easier to just dig and overwinter the tubers.
I like your garden! Especially the arbor/pergola ~ nice!
