Yes, Philo, they grow well here, and they are in bloom for a long time. They are a handy filler in a back bed that doesn't get much attention. The one in the picture is from a clump someone gave me. They seem to be in all the established gardens here in Seward. As I recall, I started some A. bulleyana... then must be out there somewhere on those tables of plants! I bought seed for the bulleyana and a hybrid called 'Amethyst' whose picture looked like plain old A. confusa to me. Leave it to Thompson and Morgan!
