This has really interesting leaves. I got this from my aunt's house. She doesn't know the name either. It's a fairly low growing plant, maybe 6" high with variegated foliage.
This is one of the last things growing in my yard that I have been wondering about. This is very pretty and produces white flowers that resemble yarrow. I had compleatly over run my lily of the valley. It pretty much leaves the hydragea alone and grows down the other way. According to my AHS encyclopedia it IS very invasive and should only be used in containers or as ground cover in somewhat shady areas in poor soil where nothing else is growing. I would definately recommend that. It is very pretty though. If anyone wants any I have plenty :-)
Goutweed is the common name for this actually. Of course some plants have all kinds of common names. Another name for it is Bishop's Weed. Those are the only two common names listed for it in the AHS book.
