I've been asking for saws for Christmas and must look like a dufus because I don't really know what kind. I want to make things like bird houses, a cornice for on top of windows, a fake mantle for our stone mantled fireplace, garden ornaments, silhouettes for in the yard, bird feeders, plaques to paint with Bible verses on them, etc.

What type of saw would work best for these types of projects? I am a rank amateur and have no one to teach me so I am teaching myself. Husband is a brainy physician so no help there. I'm the handy one but this will be out of my comfort zone...

Thanks in advance for your help

Janie
