CDauphinet
Hi, CDauphinet. I usually harvest the seed heads, then leave them on a plate or in a bowl indoors to dry out. Next, I shake the seed out of the seedheads and package them up. You can also leave the seedheads on the plants and let nature do the work for you. Sweet William will self-seed quite readily.
It is a biennial, usually growing the first year, blooming the next year, self-sowing seed, then dying. The following spring, new plants will appear, grow, then flower the year after that. Once you get things going, you should have Sweet William every year!
