Coral vine found growing on an abandoned house in Central Texas (pic taken in September). I've outlined the vine in pink so you can tell it apart easier from all the other plants gone wild. The peak of the house is approximately 20 feet high.
*Grin!* I was tempted to add a few more blooms while I was at it. ;) I wanted to show how far this vine can go ~ hence the outline. (I'm glad you appreciate that, Golddog. :) I think this hasn't been pruned or had any attention in ten years or so, so that's probably why it's gotten so out of hand. It doesn't seem to be as invasive as Trupet Vine Campsis radicans, but still probably not a good choice for a really small garden.
Wow! This guy could sure cover a house in a hurry. Who needs siding... just cover with Tyvek and let the Coral Vine take over! This is a great picture, Wingnut. It lets a person see how the plant grows when left to its own resources!
Thanks again, Weez! It do take over if you let it, but can behave itself with a little help. BUT if y'all think THAT'S something, you should see the chapel at the Texas Rennaisance Festival in Plantersville. The most spectacular scene I've ever seen these star in is that building there at the RenFest. It's a timber-frame building with no real walls or ceiling, just the raw wood timber-frame and Coral Vines covering it. Simply gorgeous! Here are some pics:

Wow! That's an amazing picture of the Coral Vine at the RenFest! Walls or a roof aren't needed with that kind of coverage! Thanks for adding the links.
You're welcome, Roshana. :) I forgot all about posting these here and now that I've seen them again, I'm getting a yen for the RenFest again. It IS that time of year, now. But I have too much to do this year. :( Waaaaahhhhhh!
