We have a lot of these here in Western NC. When the tree gets really large, a lot of people call them yellow poplar. The blooms are almost garish, but I like them.
well, i guess they get them at various stages of growth. I have seen Maple leaves done like this the most and they can be quite tiny to the size of my hand..
Glad I found this site...and your pic. My mom has a tulip poplar grow up in her back yard. I love the flowers and the form of the leaves - very different. Unfortunately it grew alittle too close to the house and she's going to have to cut it. I talked her into letting me collect some seeds from it before she does. Thanks to your pic I now know what I'm looking for when it's time to collect seed. I've searched elsewhere with google and found that these trees can in fact be 'bonsai-ed'.
So glad the pic is useful to you :)
Yes, they are very beautiful trees. I didn't know they can be bonsaied. Will your mum's tree go completely or be pollarded?
