I just found a neat utility from good ol' Microsoft at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.a... it is listed as "image resizer" It allows you to resize one, or a batch of images just by right clicking. It saves the new size as a new file. Also of interest is that you can rename a batch of files by selecting them (using ctrl or shift) then right clicking and choosing "rename", the files end up as new, new(1), new(2), new(3) etc.
