Flowering plants, in spring 2002. These formed almost a hedge, about 50 cm high. Foliage is not variegated here - from preceding photos one gets the impression it usually is, but with us in the Netherlands this is only a minority.
Though the flowers in the picture of course aren't the same colour everywhere, their natural colour is nearest to "blueviolet", which you can use as a background colour (bgcolor="blueviolet") in web-pages; the hexadecimal code is: "#8a2be2".
I have had some periwinkle for some years and it has become an awful nuisance--covering everything in its path and keeping me busy trying to remove it. I did not know this when I planted it. I must say the plant and flowers are very attractive, no pests. Proceed at your own risk.
