Hi I have question if anyone could answer. I have the ground cover Chameleon Plant 'Chameleon'
Family: Saururaceae
Genus: Houttuynia
Species cordata
And seems when i let it touch my bare skin if working in the garden i am alergic to it. i get a rash as if i was alergic to poison ivy. but it does not spread from the infected area / only blisters in the area affected. iches like crazy and takes weeks to dry up and go away. i am not alergic to anything else know of. not poison ivy, poison shoemac, or poison oak. so i find this very strange why i am if i touch this plant. I figured it out after the second time i broke out. being this was the only plant i had touched.
has anyone ever had this happen to them or could anyone offer any info on this plant.
I haven't broken out from it, but I have found it to have a very strong citrousy smell when I pull it out. It is almost impossible to get rid of. I recentlly transplanted some to the back of my yard where my Rose of Sharons grow. I am trying to choke out the new little bushes that keep sprouting from the seeds. Hopefully, I am not exchanging one problem for another!
