These are rare but grow in our area. This past year, my husband, hiking around the neighborhood (you don't walk here, land is too steep) found some that were about a foot tall! We had never seen any over abour 4" tall. He counted 54 of them. The leaves are even larger than any pink lady slippers we have seen. We just wondered if this was because of growing conditions or an anomoly, perhaps a mutant strain? Any ideas?
