This is a thornless cactus that I got from Stormy19 this past summer. But I can't remember what she called it. Can't figure out why the new growth is so different than the other??
Can anyone help me here?

Why not e-mail Stormy and ask?

Well I thought about that and even though she and I only live about 2 miles from each other I don't think she knew what it was called eaither.
I was just hoping to get a ID for it and maybe put it in the PDB here.
Maybe I will e/mail her anyways just to recheck.

It's not a cactus. Sigh... ;-)
It is a Monadenium, but I do not know which one. For a positive ID you will have to see the flowers.
New growth has actual real leaves which drop off when the plant goes dormant in winter.
It is in the family Euphorbiaceae.

Thanks Maddy, I will make a note of that and when and if it does bloom I will know where to start looking.
