i was reading an article and i learned a few new things about lilies.
the tiger lily can carry viruses and while these don't seem to bother the Tiger Lily itself, you should take care not to plant them near or with other lilies that could be infected.

when planting lilies in containers you need to fertilize them well, especially if you plan on carrying them over more than 1 year in the container. one english gardener Alan Titchmarsh, uses diluted tomatoe fertilizer weekly.
