We've got several newbies who have joined us and I thiought it would be nice to share with each other how we began this passion.

I am a native of Kentucky and my ancestors have been here in what became this state since 1778. I can trace my roots to the 1750's in Pennsylvania and Maryland.

I love Kentucky history and have been a long time gardener,as my parents and grandparents had farms.

As I studied more history, and dug out old family papers...I actually have some with the date 1823 on them...I got interested in what my ancestors grew and ate. This led to searching for seeds that would have been used during the birth of this nation, and then I found tomatoes...the rest is history. I love the beans, gourds ,squash and flowers, but I have always been an avid lover of tomatoes. When I discovered all of the different shapes, colors and tastes that they have,I was hooked.

How did y'all get hooked? Please share...
