Poppysue, yes this is it...I finally sent the picture to one of the native plants sites for positive ID. I sure don't have and can't find a whole lot of info on it though. Now that it's IDed I can put some of them up for trade.
I have a feeling it's more overlooked than rare. It's native range is Florida then along the coast as far west as Texas. Hopefully by the end of summer I can fill in some of the blanks. I don't think it gets as big as some of the cultivars. Maybe we'll get lucky sooner and someone else grows this.
