Thank you. It is especially pretty this year. This branch is hanging over the neighbor's evergreen tree. I didn't even realize it was there! It's been in our yard at least 25 years as it was here when we moved in in '76.
Your redbud is fabulous. I would not have thought of planting one against an evergreen; however, it makes a beautiful backdrop to the rich pink of the blossoms! Congrats to the photographer for an excellent specimen photo.
Your redbud is spectacular! I almost bought one this year for the back yard. I opted for a flatwoods plum instead (prunus umbulata). I just might have to have a redbud, too.
The redbud and mother nature thank you for the compliments! I'd like to take credit, but as it was already here, I just watch it grow! I have a feeling that the robutsness (is there such a word?!) it's displaying this year is due to the harsh winter we had around here. It's our reward for getting through it! I'll save some seeds from it to trade next fall.
This is a beautiful native tree here in Florence, SC.
I just learned that an old time name for this tree is the Judas Tree.
How is the yellow pollen in some of your areas. We are covered here!!
