I have a single red peony, with finely cut leaves (like Japanese maple). It has large number of bright yellow stamens in center. It is not the fern-leaf, I have one of those. I have a picture of the leaf, but do not know how to post it. Would love to give it a name and to have simple directions for posting photos- got so many things in trades, but with no names or the names got washed off in the snow.
Three possible candidates. P. peregrina, P. tenuifolia, or P. "Sir Edward Elgar". All are red singles with yellow anthers. From the description of the leaves, tenuifolia is my bet.
