Dragon Flower, Dragon Arum, Voodoo Lily, Black Lily Dracunculus vulgaris
I have this plant in a flower pot and it stays in the greenhouse. It did bloom in the yard at one time, but does better now. It has a couple of new "babies" this year.
Do you keep it in the greenhouse continuously? Or do you cut it back and hybernate it over the winter? I have a plant that I was given early this spring, that a local greenhouse told me was a VooDoo Lily, it is not exactly like any I've seen at this site. If I can figure out how to download pictures from my camera, I will send it to this site. Anyway, I cut it back, shook off most of the soil around the bulb and it's now in my dark, cool basement. The trunk is varigated, and the understem is a continuation of the varigation. The leaves are gorgeous. I can't wait til spring. Jimmy
