This bush caught my eye in England and I was never able to find out what it was. Any help would be appreciated.

Is that a forsythia? Surely not!?

The timing was right. The tulips and daffodils were blooming but it's not like the forsythia I have seen here. Looked more like a yellow spirea??

Hard to tell without a close up. Its lax habit reminds me of Jasminum nudiflorum - Winter flowering Jasmine

Hard to tell from the pic but if the flowers were pea like, its a scotch broom, possibly Cytissus x praecox. If they were round and five petaled, it's likely a jasmine as Baa previously stated. Not so sure on the species though. There are a few jasmines with yellow flowers but J. nudiflorum is the most common as well as the hardiest.
