Yes, it is edible. You can eat fresh either you blend and take the juice or you may add to your cooking menu as like ginger. I use to take it as juice once a week mixed with hot ginger (Malay word - Halia Bara) plus honey. I have include the pictures of halia bara in the plant data base.
