Here is a just hatched Anise Swallowtail Cat. It is the small black object in this picture. He is shown here on his host plant Fennel or Anise. These plants reach approx 6 foot high. This is the flowering part of the plant. This cat. is approx. 3/16th of an inch long. This is the first egg & Cat I have seen in my area this year. This little one has such a long way to go yet.
