no it's not a climber( i think)...it's been staying about 18 to 20 inches tall and sort of bushy...

The leaves do look Viola like but the 20 inch height is a bit of a stumper for me.

Take a look under the leaves, Violas often have closed (cleistogamous) flowers beneath the leaves this time of year. If you see anything that looks like tiny buds, perhaps a photo and description will help
