OOOOPS! That thread should have the date of June 14th...Hi all, Market Day yesterday found us with a thin crowd. It was very hot and humid and I was suffering from lack of sleep. I made it to bed the night before around 12:30 a.m. and had to get up at 4 a.m. I was busy tying up loose ends late. It seems the crowds might be getting smaller and smaller as the weeks roll on. Maybe lots of folks were out of town due to it being Fathers Day weekend, I dunno. Myself and another farmer are racking our brains out trying to think of contest to bring folks in. Despite the small crowds, our sales were brisk, in fact, it was our biggest income so far.
I sold all but 2 bundles of my Goat Cheese. I made 44 - 3oz bundles. The flavors were: Roasted Garlic and Pecan, Garlic and Herb, Plain, Blueberry and Strawberry.
I have been having trouble selling my Medusa Ornamental Peppers. I put up a sign and marketed it as "Plant of the Week" dropped the price and they sold like hot cakes. I think I am on to something. I might do that with a different plant each week to move products.
My daughter handed out little toothpick flags to children. They (and she loved it). Enjoy your stroll through our market this week!
