I was wanting to upload some of the pictures I've taken to the Plants Database. I've been able to find the right catagory for most of my photos, but am stumped on this magnolia I took in one of our local parks. Can anybody tell me where it goes?

Oh, gosh - the M. grandiflora varieties are almost impossible to tell apart, unless you know mature height, blooming time, leaf size and color, etc...

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I'm guessing it's not going to be possible or practical to try to ID it. It sure is pretty, though!

Terry, It sure looks like an M. grandiflora, but the underside of the leaf is green instead of brown. M. virginiana has green undersides but the leaves are much smaller than the ones in the pic. I also suspect the habitat is all wrong for M.v. What I'd like to see is a photo of the trunk(s).
