This plant is so variable! Not being very knowledgable about palms, I would never have thought this was the same plant as my much smaller bluegreen groves of Dwarf Palmetto growing under my oaks. Perhaps this one comes from that giant Texas native stock I read about during my internet research--the one that reaches up to 18 feet in height.
