| That is indeed beautiful
I have a mauve that went about 4 1/2'; and a white called "Bartered Bride" that is about 5' to 6' but otherwise resembles the one in Rootdoctor's picture. Both of mine are in their first year and can't be touched. (Unfortunately, I don't have a digicam.)
I would also love to get the purple form, if you are up for division. Could talk about what I can share. Anyway, this looks like a lovely plant in a healthy, nicely spaced garden. Congratulations!

| I loved the other posts because it explained why mine is not that lovely color-apparently mine is the mauve and is also in its first year. Beautiful plant-any tips on soil type, light, water to get such a healthly plant? |

| This is planted in heavy clay, full sun and average amount of water (not super dry, not super wet...but it does get pretty dry in summer sometimes). |

| Dear "HC"
Do you fertilize much, or is this one of those 'weeds' that does fine if you just get the other weeds out of the way? Mine are still one and two stalk plants in their first year, but they are doing side growth and rebloom - I THINK because of fertilizing.

| Sorry for the delay...Mine do well without fertilizing...or much at all anyway. If I fertilize at all, it's once in spring. |

| Thanks Spaniel and Jules_Jewel. You should be able to grow lots of these in zone 5. I only trim around them occasionally. Sometimes I use a push mower to get closer. Cloud Nine is doing well. No new pictures yet. It's still sort of in a standing still phase. I imagine next spring is when it will bust loose and really grow :) |
