Is this the same thing as "silver lace vine"? I just started some on an arbor, but hear it's very aggressive.

No, This is not Siver lace Vine, although it is related to it. Silver Lace Vine is Polygonum aubertii
{ http://plantsdatabase.com/go/57174/ }

I don't know much about the Silver Lace Vine, except that it is very fast growing. I believe that most Polygonums have a propensity to spread quite rapily. Certainly Japanese Knotweed is a major problem weed in several countries to which it has been introduced.

Things grow so well here, it seems everything is listed as invasive. Partly because people were so burned from kudzu, I suppose, they are really adamant that nothing invasive be planted. So, my silver lace vine is being carefully contained. The knotweed does look a lot like the silver lace though.
