If you have the chance, try to take a picture of this flower at nigh, when the stamens are bright, white with red tips. Unfortuantely for us (not for bats that love the nectar of this flower), it only shows its full splendor at nights.
My old work has about 20 Pachira aquatica plants .. they all bloom at night. The flowers drop off by about 14:00 during the following day. The fragrance is gorgeous .. I love this tree.
