Don't count on it unless you have a long growing season like Palmbob. All Ipomoea's do great here in zone 6 however after the first freeze their gone. If you want to see flowers here in Maryland before July it's a good idea to start your Morning Glories or Moonflowers inside in peat pots long about March.
Robert, long growing season is something we don't have. We're lucky if we get 90 frost free days some summers. We have already had frost but it was just mild & didn't lose anything. I have never tried starting m.g.'s inside, I usually just direct sow the end of May. They don't start blooming til beginning of Aug. I know I wouldn't have a chance on growing something like Palmbob.
The tri-lobed(!) leaves in combination with the location and the 'unusual' color of the blooms lead me to identify the plant pictured to be Ipomoea indica...
Ipomoea tricolor does not have trilobed leaves and the plant posted is chock full of trilobed leaves...
