was mulching and cleaning my garden beds in back recently and 2 of the hosta plants came completely up in my hands, with no roots attached. there were holes underneath, where i believe the roots were. first i was thinking maybe a snake hole on the first because i saw a hole coming out of the side of the first one. but then i was reading and someone said that slugs can live underground and eat away your hosta roots. i have been battling with those buggers this year. they also ate 15 of the 16 foxglove plants a friend gave me.
help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what do you think is happening?
i also posted this on garden talk
