I live in Houston, Texas. I have two very young Improved Meyer lemon trees. A few of the lemons are half-yellow, half green, with a gooey-type of covering on them, and with small black, mottled areas in the yellow part. Where it is gooey, it is stuck to a leaf, with a web type of film. What disease or insect is making this happen? If I pick the lemons now, will I be able to eat at least half of the lemon, or is it spoiled completely? What can I spray the trees with to kill whatever is ailing them?
