You have so many fantastic pics of your palms, I had to share this with you.
I live in Panama City Beach, Florida, Zone 8, and have a long story of this tree, which my husband had before we moved in together. I hated it, and tried to kill it, but a tree guy I hired saw it and loved it and planted it this spring after two years in our garage with no water.
Now I love it and want to try to grow more, but don't know how to cultivate seedling, or cuttings.
Great picture palmbob!! And I agree with PCB. You do take great pictures of palm trees and other plants. Keep up the good work and keep giving out advice!
Never grown this plant from seed so can't help you with that. But seedlings are very cheap and common (4" seedlings out here in So Cal usually cost $2). They grow relatively fast here in So Cal, but I bet they grow even faster for you. Just plant in well draining soil. No secret. Water a lot in summer. Treat like a water-loving cactus when it's warm. If/when loses leaves, don't water at all (though rain water doesn't appear to be harmful to this plant during those times of non-growth, as long as soil drains well).
